ascl1b and neurod1 are expressed during early pancreas development. (A) Phylogenetic tree calculated with full-length amino acid sequences from vertebrate members of the ARP/ASCL family. The pancreatic expression of zebrafish ARP/ASCL was tested by WISH and the expression levels are depicted by (+++) highly, (++) moderately, (+) weakly, (-/+) very weakly and (-) not expressed in the pancreas.
