Similarly, supraorbital cartilage (red arrow) was well developed in wildtype larvae (C) but retarded in sumf1^−/− larvae. Notably, chondrocytes in the branchial arches were neatly stacked (intercalated) in wildtype larvae (E), whereas the intercalation of the chondrocytes was disrupted in sumf1^−/− larvae (F).
