Hair cell counts after UVC exposure. (A) Graph showing number of cells per neuromast, per larvae at 1-, 24-, and 48-h post exposure (HPE; 5- to 7-days post fertilization). (B) Representative confocal images after AlexaFluor phalloidin 488 staining of the MI1 neuromast of 5- to 7-days post fertilization zebrafish larvae. Cell counts were comparable between both genotypes and all exposure groups after 30 s UVC exposure. Data is from 10 replicate experiments with at least 3 embryos per group, per experiment and is represented by mean ± SD. Each data point represents a single zebrafish larva. Differences between groups were analyzed via two-way ANOVA with multiple comparisons (no differences found) scale bar: 5 μm. |
