- Description
- Predicted to enable ATP binding activity and non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity. Involved in regulation of convergent extension involved in gastrulation. Acts upstream of or within with a positive effect on midbrain-hindbrain boundary morphogenesis. Acts upstream of or within lens fiber cell morphogenesis and regulation of protein localization. Predicted to be located in several cellular components, including cytoskeleton; focal adhesion; and plasma membrane. Is expressed in eye; notochord; segmental plate; somite; and vertical myoseptum. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in leiomyoma; lung small cell carcinoma; and pulmonary hypertension. Orthologous to human PTK2 (protein tyrosine kinase 2).
