In the PG mutant fam20b−/−, fin regeneration was unaffected, but DMH1 reduced fin outgrowth. After DMSO treatment from 6dpa to 12dpa, fin outgrowth appeared similar in wild types (A,B) and fam20b mutants (C,D). After 10 μM DMH1 treatment, wild-type (E,F) and fam20b−/− (G,H) fin outgrowth appeared decreased. (I) Quantitative analysis revealed that only DMH1-treated fam20b−/− mutant fin outgrowth was significantly reduced in the most ventral and dorsal fin rays, compared to DMSO-treated controls.
