Wnt signaling is not required for specification of developing PDs and OVs. (A-F) Transgenic Dkk1 embryos had nearly normal pax2 expression in PDs (B,D) and OVs (B,F) compared with non-transgenic siblings (A,C,E). Tg(hsp:dkk1-GFP) embryos were heat-shocked at 60% epiboly for 60 minutes and collected at the 10-somite stage for in situ staining.
