Aida is required for expression of the ventral hematopoietic marker gata1. Embryos were injected with 300 pg of aida mRNA or 10ng of aida-MO. Ectopic expression of aida repressed gata1 expression in the blood island (indicated by arrows) at 24 hpf, while aida-MO caused a reversed effect.
