The effect of miR-21 knockdown on the zebrafish valve development. (A–D) Both wild-type and scramble MO control-injected embryos show normal AV ring constriction ((A,B) arrow) at 55 hpf, whereas miR-21 knockdown results in loss of the normal AV constriction ((C,D) arrow) (E) Relative expression of the mature miR-21 was measured by qRT-PCR using RNA isolated from the whole bodies. Injection of miR-21 MOs knocked down the expression of miR-21 to nearly 30%. **P < 0.01.
