Cui et al (J. Neurosci, 25:6610-6620) used bulk segregant analysis to map the sho locus to LG 2. The closest flanking markers were z22527 and z7632. Subsequent analyses using data from the zebrafish fingerprinting project and genome sequence identified a missense mutation in the slc6a9 gene to be the cause of the sho mutation.

Lee, et al. (2008. Dev. Biol. 319(1): 10-22.) reports linkage mapping that places the blowout mutation between Z11410 and Z13521, with finer mapping defining the interval between z8451 and CH211-261P7-SSR2.

Parsons et al., 2002

Parsons, et al. (2002. Dev 129:3137-3146.) report using half tetrad analysis to map lamc1 to LG2. They localized lamc1 to a 3.4 cM interval between z11023 and z7632 on the MGH mapping panel. The elavl1 gene is within this interval and was used as a starting point for a chromosome walk. lamc1 was found to be on YAC 148F11, approximately 1.6 cM from z11023 and approximately 1.8 cM from z7632.
