Migration and compaction of tbx5-positive pectoral fin precursors is slightly delayed in ring1b mutants (A-F), whereas hand2 expression is identical to wild-type siblings up to 24 hpf (K-P). Expression of tbx5 (G-J) and hand2 (Q-T) is not maintained in the ring1b fin mesenchyme. aldh1a2 is overexpressed and not restricted to the posterior LPM in ring1b mutants (U-BB, brackets).
