- Enables DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific. Contributes to DNA-binding transcription factor activity and beta-catenin binding activity. Involved in regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including canonical Wnt signaling pathway; response to cadmium ion; and response to methylmercury. Part of transcription regulator complex. Is expressed in several structures, including digestive system; hematopoietic system; mesoderm; musculature system; and sensory system. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in pulmonary tuberculosis. Orthologous to human JUN (Jun proto-oncogene, AP-1 transcription factor subunit).
