BKI-1708 treatment in the pregnant neosporosis mouse model. BALB/c mice were experimentally infected with 10⁵ NcSpain-7 tachyzoites and treated with BKI-1708 for 5 days at 20 mg/kg/day or with corn oil as placebo (Positive control). Negative control (C-) was not infected and treated with corn oil. A shows Kaplan-Meier survival curves of pups, curves were compared by the Logrank (Mantel-Cox) test. Differences between treated group and C+ curves were highly significant (P < 0.0001). Cerebral parasite burdens in dams (B) and non-pregnant mice (C) were quantified by real time PCR and are shown as box plots. Significant differences in the cerebral parasite burden were observed between BKI-1708-treated mice compared to the C+ group. (B) **** |
