    Orthology Note for tlr4bb

Authors in Sullivan C et al (ZDB-PUB-091023-26) state: "The strong conclusion from the analysis of conserved syntenies is that the zebrafish genes called tlr4a and tlr4b are not orthologs of the human TLR4 gene, but represent a reciprocal loss of ohnologs derived from the second round of genome duplication at about the time of the vertebrate radiation. The implication of orthology can be avoided where none exists by calling the zebrafish genes tlr4ba and tlr4bb, and the human gene TLR4A.
