Fig. 1 First expression is observed at 70% epiboly in dorsal neural plate, in territory lining the presumptive epidermis from the animal pole to the ventral territory near the margin (a territory which corresponds to the presumptive dorsal spinal cord). Ventral proneural clusters appear later (80% epiboly) first near the margin in a territory corresponding to the ventral spinal cord. At the same developmental stage, strong expression is observed at the level of the presumptive midbrain. EXPRESSION / LABELING:
