Dosage of functional fzd9b influences zebrafish quantitative discrimination abilities. WT zebrafish demonstrate a significant preference for the larger group when confronted with both contrasts 2 versus 5 (2 v 5, ratio: 0.4) and 2 versus 4 (2 v 4, ratio: 0.5). Strikingly, fzd9b+/- fish were able to show a preference for the larger group at the most difficult ratio of 2 versus 3 (2 v 3, ratio: 0.67) while neither WT nor fzd9b-/- showed a preference. Each dot represents a subject, allowing for visualisation of interindividual variability; bars show mean ± SEM. Dashed line designates chance level. * p < 0.05 vs. chance.
