Effects of EPF3 on the expression of tight junction-related proteins ZO-1 (A), occludin (B), and claudin-1 (C) in Caco-2 cells analyzed by immunofluorescence (200×). The DAPI-stained nuclei were blue, and the tight junction-related proteins showed green fluorescence distributed around the cells. Con: control group; DAPI: 4′,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole; EPF3: group treated with EPF3, a fibrinolysin monomer isolated and purified from Pheretima vulgaris Chen; EPF3R: group treated with EPF3 followed by its removal and cultured in minimum essential medium for another 12 h; ZO-1: zona occludens-1. |
