Abstract
ZFIN's curation of data includes the assignment of Gene Ontology (GO) controlled vocabulary terms. Genes are annotated with terms from three ontologies (Molecular Function, Biological Process, and Cellular Component). A GO annotation citing this reference was brought to the zebrafish gene record because the annotation was present on a homologous gene in another species participating in the Reference Genomes Project, where the annotation was supported with published experimental evidence.
