Definition
A branched amino pentasaccharide comprising a chain of alpha-N-acetylneuraminyl, beta-D-galactosyl, N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminyl and beta-D-galactose residues linked sequentially (2->3), (1->3) and (1->3), to the D-galactosyl residue distal to the reducing end is also attached an N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminyl residue of which is also attached via a beta(1->6) linkage an N-acetyl-D-galactosyl residue. A 5-aminopentyl linker may be attached to the oxygen at position 1 of the reducing-end galactose residue.
