ZFIN Staff (2007) Gene Ontology Annotation Inferred from Sequence Similarity as part of the Reference Genomes Project. Manually curated data. .
Abstract
ZFIN's curation of data includes the assignment of Gene Ontology (GO) controlled vocabulary terms. Genes are annotated with terms from three ontologies (Molecular Function, Biological Process, and Cellular Component). A GO annotation citing this reference was brought to the zebrafish gene record because the annotation was present on a homologous gene in another species participating in the Reference Genomes Project, where the annotation was supported with published experimental evidence. To obtain more detailed information about this process or to send comments, please contact ZFIN.
