BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Lapo Turrini graduated with a Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Florence in 2015. In 2019, he then obtained his PhD with highest grades in “Atomic and Molecular Photonics” for his work on zebrafish brain functional imaging at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS). Today Lapo is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Florence, where he continues to study functional and structural aspects of larval zebrafish brain. In particular, Lapo makes use of cutting-edge custom-made fluorescence microscopes and virtual-reality environments to investigate on a whole-organ scale, yet with single cell resolution, the neuronal circuitries underlying motor behaviour.
