BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Aizawa is the Professor of the Department of Neurobiology in Hiroshima University. Following completion of his Ph.D in Chiba University, he joined RIKEN Brain Science Institute as a research scientist as well as deputy lab head and found evolutionarily conserved habenular pathways in vertebrates. After he moved to the Tokyo Medical and Dental University, he primarily works for a role of the habenula in depression using rodents and fish.
