Prof. Tsai has served as Associate Professor, Institute of Fisheries Science, National Taiwan University, since September of 1988 upon completing his postdoctoral work at Department of Biology, Johns Hopkins University. Since then, he has been working on the Molecular Biology of fish, fish Embryology, Gene Transfer Technology of fish and shellfish and Marine Algae Biotechnology for more than 30 years. His research materials focus on aquatic organisms from different aspects, including basic studies and industrial applications. Up to August of 2019, Prof. Tsai has published a total more than of 130 international refereed papers. He is a recipient of Outstanding Research Award offered by Ministry of Sciences and Technology, Taiwan, for three times.
