Experiment Conditions Description: chemical treatment by environment: biliatresone, chemical treatment by environment: N-acetyl-L-cysteine, chemical treatment by environment: 8-bromo-3',5'-cyclic GMP
chemical treatment by environment: biliatresone |
---|
Name: | chemical treatment by environment |
---|---|
Synonyms: | |
Definition: | Chemical treatment condition in which the chemical is introduced through the environment. For zebrafish this is the tank water. |
Ontology: | Zebrafish Environment Condition Ontology [ZECO:0000238] |
Name: | biliatresone |
---|---|
Synonyms: | 1-(4,6-dimethoxy-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one, 2-[2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-oxoprop-1-en-3-yl]-1,3-dimethoxy-4,5-methylenedioxybenzene |
Definition: | A member of the class of benzodioxoles that is 1,3-benzodioxole which is substituted at positions 5 by a 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-oxoprop-1-en-3-yl group and at positions 4 and 6 by methoxy groups. A very rare type of isoflavonoid-related 1,2-diaryl-2-propenone found in Dysphania glomulifera (red crumbweed) and D. littoralis, the enone moiety is particularly reactive, undergoing ready Michael addition of water and methanol. Biliatresone has been found to cause extrahepatic biliary atresia (obliteration or discontinuity of the extrahepatic biliary system, resulting in obstruction to bile flow) in a zebrafish model. |

Name: | 8-bromo-3',5'-cyclic GMP |
---|---|
Synonyms: | 8-Br-cGMP, 8-Br-Cyclic GMP, 8-Bromo-cgmp, 8-Bromocyclic GMP, 8-Bromocyclic guanosine monophosphate, 8-bromoguanosine 3',5'-(hydrogen phosphate), 8-Bromoguanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate, 8-Bromoguanosine 3',5'-monophosphate |
Definition: | A 3',5'-cyclic purine nucleotide that is 3',5'-cyclic GMP bearing an additional bromo substituent at position 8 on the guanine ring. A membrane permeable cGMP analogue that activates protein kinase G (PKG). It is 4.3-fold more potent than cGMP in activating PKG1alpha and promotes relaxation of tracheal and vascular smooth muscle tissue in vitro. |
