The voltage pulses were in the range −140 to +20 mV. At all tested pH, the presence of saturating concentrations of Gly-Gln (1 mmol l−1 for PepT2a and 0.3 mmol l-1 for PepT2b) eliminates the transporter transient component (IPSS) and produces large inwardly directed steady-state currents that raise increasing the proton chemical gradient and in hyperpolarization.
