Description
Predicted to have DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific. Predicted to be involved in cell differentiation and positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Predicted to localize to nucleus. Is expressed in brain; neural keel; neural plate; and spinal cord. Orthologous to human POU3F2 (POU class 3 homeobox 2).

Note
Gates, et al. (1999. Genome Res. 9:334-347.) reported orthology to human POU3F1 and mouse Pou3f1. Subsequent analysis suggests this gene is the ortholog of human POU3F2 and mouse Pou3f2 based on amino acid identity and conserved location.
