Predicted to have ATP binding activity and non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity. Involved in T cell differentiation in thymus and natural killer cell differentiation. Predicted to localize to cytoskeleton and membrane. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia; adult T-cell leukemia; juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia; and megakaryocytic leukemia. Is expressed in thymus. Orthologous to human JAK3 (Janus kinase 3).
