Definition
A hexagonal-shaped collagen network formed by collagen type X trimer or collagen type VIII trimers. Collagen type X trimers are mostly found in the cartilage hyaline matrix, which is located in the interstitial area. Note that collagen type VIII has been found in the basement membrane, but the localization is not definitive. (4)
