Definition

An organic heteropentacyclic compound that has formula C₁₈H₂₀ClN₃O₆S₂, produced by the saprophyte fungus Pithomyces chartarum. It is a mycotoxin responsible for the hepatogenous photosensitisation disease facial eczema in ruminants.
