Definition
A trisaccharide residue obtained from alpha-maltotriose by removal of the anomeric hydroxy group from the residue at the reducing end and the hydrogen attached to the 4-hydroxy group of the residue at the non-reducing end. Corresponds to the minimal monoclonal antibody (Mab) binding epitope for the binding of Mabs to mycobacterial capsular alpha-glucans of Mycobacterium smegmatis.
