An ω-hydroxy fatty acid ascaroside obtained by formal condensation of the alcoholic hydroxy group of (2E)-7-hydroxyhept-2-enoic acid with ascarylopyranose (the α anomer). It is a metabolite of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans.
