Definition
A triarylmethane that is tris(4-chlorophenyl)methane in which the hydrogen of the central carbon is replaced by a hydroxy group. It is a byproduct of DDT manufacturing and is a highly persistent contaminant found in the environment and which bio-accumulates in marine species.
