Wild-type line collected in Darjeeling, India by Heiko Bleher in 1987. First generation offspring sent to Monte Westerfield in Eugene in 1988. Line maintained by inbreeding since then. A much faster swimmer than other common wild-type strains. Used extensively for mapping due to many polymorphic markers.

The SJD line is is an inbred isolate of Darjeeling.  (1)
