BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
born 15.8.1960 in Cologne
Study of Biology/ Zoology at the University of Cologne (1980-1988)
Ph. D. at the Free University of Berlin, Institute for Toxicology and Embryopharmacology, work on comparative evaluation of valproic acid (VPA) and selected structural analoga and EM 12 (thalidomide analogon) on embryo-larval development of amphibians (1989-1994)
1992-1998 Scientific employee at the Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland fisheries (IGB): ecotoxicology/ the use of a zebrafish embryotest for the assessment of chemical stressors- environmental samples from contaminated lakes and rivers and cyanotoxins, analysing and comparing effects in a range of organismic funcions, comparative studies using different species of lower vertebrates, semi-field studies using native fish species
since 1999 at BgVV/BfR: molecular toxicology, study of protein expression after xenobiotic exposure of tissues, comparison of protein expression in male and female zebrafish
