Biography and Research Interest
I am Jyotheeswaran Panapakam M.Sc., D.El.Ed.,Ph.D., is an assistant professor of biology at Arkansas Tech University. I earned Ph.D. from the University of North Texas where I successfully identified coagulation factor VII inhibitor from natural products using zebrafish animal model. At ATU I direct a dedicated research facility utilizing zebrafish to understand natural products and their significance in cardiovascular drug discovery while actively mentoring undergraduate researchers.
Research interests: the Panapakam laboratory utilizes the zebrafish model to investigate cardiovascular drug discovery. the core research program is focused on identifying novel, safe antithrombotic therapies from natural products libraries by integrating in vivo, ex vivo assays and in silico approaches. Furthermore, the lab evaluates cost-effective engineering paradigms to establish sustainable, research-grade aquaculture infrastructure at primary undergraduate institutions.
