BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
since 2016 Tenure- track group leader in Molecular Toxicology, Department of Environmental Toxicology, Eawag
2011-2015 PostDoc at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research, Heidelberg, Germany
2005-2010 PhD at the University of Zürich, Institute for Molecular Life Sciences, Zürich, Switzerland
2003-2004 Diploma in Biology, Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel, Switzerland
2000-2003 Studies of Biology, University of Basel, Switzerland

My interests lie in the interaction of an organism with its environment and how it reacts and adapts to external stimuli. Genetic mutations and environmental threats influence the way information is processed by the nervous system leading to differential behavioral outputs, but the underlying neuronal and molecular mechanisms are often obscure. My research focuses on elucidating the molecular basis underlying biological processes that lead to adaptation, adverse outcomes and diseases.
