BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Through developmental studies, our lab is primarily focused on understanding progenitor biology. Our goal to decipher progenitor biology to the point that will allow us to genetically or pharmacologically manipulate differentiation, in vivo, which will undoubtedly advance the field of regenerative medicine. We also aim to gain insight into diseases associated progenitor dysfunction and their potential therapies. Using the zebrafish vertebrate model system, we are currently researching how transcription and signaling factors regulate progenitors of the pancreas, liver, and intestine.
