Tsujimura et al. (2007) showed that, in zebrafish, a single enhancer, previously named RH2-LCR, was located 15-kb upstream of the opsin (RH2) gene cluster and was necessary and sufficient for the SDC-specific expression of all four opsin (RH2) genes.
