STATEMENT OF RESEARCH INTERESTS
Our group takes advantage of zebrafish (Danio rerio), a powerful vertebrate model organism to dissect the developmental pathways deregulated in human leukemia and cancers. We are now interested in: 1) Signal transduction networks, epigenetic and microRNA regulatory pathways involved in the self-renewal and migration of normal hematopoietic stem cells, leukemia stem cells and red blood cells; 2) Molecular mechanisms underlying chemotactic movement of inflammatory blood cells and metastasis of cancer stem cells. 3) Whole animal-based high throughput screen with zebrafish for potential therapeutic drugs.
