Fig. 9 Expression of Bmp ligand genes is upregulated in her9 mutant larvae. qRT-PCR for bmp2a, bmp4, and bmp7 expression in whole embryos/larvae at 24 hpf (A), 48 hpf (B), 72 hpf (C), and 5 dpf (D). At 24 hpf, expression of bmp2a and bmp7 is decreased in her9 mutants relative to WT/heterozygous embryos. However, at later time points (48 and 72 hpf, 5 dpf), expression of bmp2a, bmp4, and bmp7 is higher in her9 mutants than WT/heterozygous larvae. ∗p < 0.05.
