Fig. 11 Creation of colorless transparent tilapia by triple mutation of tyrb;csf1ra;pnp4a and tyrb;csf1ra;tfec. The phenotype of the two triple mutants was colorless and transparent due to loss of visible melanophores, xanthophores, iridophores and erythrophores. The mutants were no longer transparent due to the recovery of iridophores in the tyrb;csf1ra;pnp4a mutants from 60 dpf onwards and due to the increase in muscle thickness in the tyrb;csf1ra;tfec mutants from 120 dpf onwards.
