Emodin inhibits LPS-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in mice via the JNK pathway. (A) SP600125 alleviates the protective effects of emodin on lung histopathological changes in ALI mice. The lung tissues were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) (40 ×). (B–E) Anisomycin counteracts the inhibitory effects of emodin on inflammation and edema in ALI mice. At 8 h after stimulation by LPS, lung tissues were separated and then weighted to obtain the W/D ratio (B). BALF was collected to detect the total protein concentration (C) using the BCA protein assay kit, and the levels of TNF-α (D) and IL-6 (E) in the supernatant were measured by ELISA.
