Pan-cadherin was stained to mark the gut epithelia using a monoclonal antibody against Pan-cadherin (Sigma, C1821) in dilution of 1:200 (green). (C) The ratios of pH3-positive cells shown in different tissues were obtained by counting pH3-positive cells against total cells in a specific organ (e.g., intestine) in sections obtained from three wild-type and three mutant embryos, respectively. *: P<0.05; **: P<0.01.
