(B) heg is induced by 3 hours post-amputation (hpa) in endocardial cells throughout the ventricle (and atrium, not shown).

(C) raldh2 in situ hybridization at 1 hpa, indicating induction in many atrial endocardial cells, but fewer ventricular endocardial cells. The injured ventricular apex is marked by an asterisk.
