Description
Predicted to enable DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Acts upstream of or within vasculogenesis. Predicted to be part of RNA polymerase II transcription regulator complex. Predicted to be active in cytoplasm and nucleus. Is expressed in anterior lateral plate mesoderm and pharyngeal arch. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including IgA glomerulonephritis; autoimmune disease (multiple); gastrointestinal system cancer (multiple); genital herpes; and scleroderma (multiple). Orthologous to human STAT4 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 4).
