Zantiks Ltd produces and supplies zebrafish researchers with robust, versatile, easy-to-use equipment for behavioural studies. Based in the UK with a global reach, Zantiks develops products in close collaboration with a wide variety of researchers, and distributes systems worldwide.
Zantiks enables animal behaviour to be measured simply. All the automated behavioural Zantiks units are complete, networked systems. The small, affordable units standardise locomotor activity monitoring (circadian, toxicological, genetic), simple learning experiments (startle, habituation), and operant conditioning experiments (5-CSRTT). Results from live video tracking are processed in real-time: data in .csv format is readily available for statistical analysis. Units provide an isolated, consistent environment, are equipped with visual and vibratory stimuli, and the larger units are delivered with appropriate tanks and inserts. Control is from any networked device capable of web browsing (smartphone, tablet, laptop, desktop). The smallest unit is the Zantiks MWP which is designed for larval zebrafish and fits standard multi well plates. The Zantiks AD is for adult zebrafish and in addition can deliver solids and liquids (food rewards and chemical stimuli), as well as aversive stimuli (mild electric shocks). The Zantiks LT is currently in development, a larger unit that is suitable for measuring social behaviour of adult zebrafish.
