Definition: Dorsal fin muscle that moves individual rays the dorsal fin into a lowered position. The dorsal depressors extend from either the right or left base of a dorsal fin ray to the posterior edge of a proximal pterygophore in the median septum. Antagonistic to dorsal erector muscle. There is one dorsal depressor for each dorsal fin lepidotrichium.
