Role: The RNA PROBE class catalogs the RNA probes known to the zebrafish community.
Sample Query Scenario: I have a particular structure (e.g. the presumptive ear) and I’d like to know which genes are expressed there and the probes that can be used to label the structure for expression of these genes by RNA in situ hybridization. I access the database and query for labeling reagents, entering the name of the structure I want labeled as the search parameter.
How/Who enters: Initially, the DB Admin enters known RNA PROBEs. Authorized submitters are allowed to create and enter new RNA PROBE records into the database.
Security: Only authorized submitters are permitted to enter new RNA PROBEs. Changes to fields other than comments, related_pubs, and source are not permitted; requests for other updates must go through the DB Admin.

gene (GENE, REQUIRED). This field contains a pointer to a particular GENE that has been entered into the database.
vector (TEXT, REQUIRED). Name of the cloning vector.
construct (TEXT, REQUIRED). Name of the resulting construct.
insert_size (INTEGER, REQUIRED). Size of the cDNA insert piece in kilobases.
polymerase (TEXT, REQUIRED). Max size= 5chars.
