"(mitfa:DsRed-kcnj13) was prepared by modifying pTol2-mitfa:DsRed plasmid, which is named as pTol2-nacre-DsRed in the paper. To make this plasmid; mitfa:DsRed-kcnj13, kcnj13 gene was integrated between mitfa-promoter and DsRed gene of pTol2-mitfa:DsRed plasmid and the kcnj13 included it own stop codon. Single mRNA on which kcnj13 and DsRed genes are harbored are expressed under the mitfa promoter. Because kcnj13 has stop codon and there is not promoter sequence for DsRed, DsRed is not translated to protein." (Masakatsu Watanabe)
