BIOGRAPHY AND RESEARCH INTERESTS
Assessment of developmental and cognitive deficits with drug treatments and environmental chemical exposure. Emphasis in our laboratory is on the cognitive process in zebrafish. Recently published paper in Behavioural Processes 58(3):125-132,2002 details the spatial-alternation paradigm that we use in assessing learning and memory in zebrafish. This learning task is set up to be similar to the rat T-maze, in that it tests a work memory within a spatial context. Eventually, this will be developed as a screen for cognitive mutants.
